Ida Marie Jones, age 97, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Delta South Nursing Center in Sikeston, MO.

Ida was born September 1, 1925, in Plainview, AR, to the late William Carl Mehle and Elizabeth Sarah Talley Mehle.  She had lived in Arkansas most of her life before moving to Sikeston.

In 1969, she married Pete Jones who preceded her in death in 1974.

She was a homemaker while raising four children.  She also enjoyed ironing for others.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Baker of Benton, MO, one granddaughter Tina Moore, a great grandson Dustin Moore, 2 great-great granddaughters and host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and three sons: Carl Lee Baker, Eddie Baker and George Baker.  Also, by her brothers, Wilburn Mehle and William Mehle; and her sisters Emma Gilkey and Wanda Haston.

There will be a private service at a later date.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
