Iris Vivian Jackson

Iris Vivian (Poe) Jackson, age 102, affectionately known as "Tod", died Monday, April 13, 2026, at Hubble Creek Nursing home in Jackson, Missouri.

Mrs. Jackson was born December 25, 1923 in Canalou, Missouri, to the late Lester Hugh and late Florence Emma (Robinson) Poe and was raised in Charleston, MO.

On February 19, 1943, she married Rex Leland Jackson who preceded her in death on May 20, 1982.

She is survived by one daughter Sheila R. Jones of Cape Girardeau, MO and two sons, Steven H. Jackson and wife Christine of Toms River, NJ and Michael A. Jackson and wife Terri of Cape Girardeau, MO. Mrs. Jackson had one granddaughter Allison G. (Van Brunt) Bibbo, two grandsons Eric H Jackson and wife Diane and Matthew P. Jackson. She also had five great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandson.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO, was a family genealogist for over 50 years and enjoyed hand quilting and needlework.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Wanda Fitzpatrick, Evelyn Delbridge and Marilyn “Peggy” Laird.

Family and friends may assemble for graveside services at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2026, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston, MO.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
