William Irvin Johnson, 71, died at his home at Crowder Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013. He was born Sept, 19, 1942 in Scranton, Ark. to the late Elmer Ocie and Sadie Wray (Irvin) Johnson. A resident of this area most of his life, he was a member of the Church of Christ and had worked as a bricklayer for Carl Dial with many years. He was first married to Barbara Sue Britton May, 1964 at Bell City. He was later married to Dianne Washburn April 13, 2009 at Benton and she survives of the home. Also surviving are 1 son, Stephen "Brent" Johnson, Sr. of Sikeston; 1 step-son and daughter-in-law, Travis & Leslie Hasty of Sikeston and 1 step-daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Jeff Warren of Sikeston; 2 sisters, Jane (Charles) Sitton of Sikeston and LaDena Nelson of Cape Girardeau; and by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherie Lynn Johnson and by 3 brothers. Friends may call from 10 am Monday Dec. 2, 2013 until time for services at 12 noon at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Rev. Marvin Graham will officiate and burial will follow at Dexter City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brent Johnson, Travis Hasty, Carl Casey, Jay Amos, Mike Watkins and Glen Parks.
