JACKIE LEON GROVES, Age 61, of rural Charleston, died Monday, December 25, 2017, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born August 11, 1956, at Wyatt, MO, to Rayola Essary Groves, who survives of Benton, and the late J.L. Groves, he had lived in the Charleston area most of his life and had been employed with Major Brands Distributing and then the Lohr Distributing as a sales person. He was a member of the Sikeston Elks Club and enjoyed anything outdoors-fishing, golf, four-wheeler and Polaris riding and camping.
On September 14, 2002, he married Cynthia Jane "Cindy" Davis, who survives of the home.
Also surviving besides his wife and mother are: one son, John Lee Groves of Benton; one stepson, Brandon Shane Brown of Bernie; one step daughter, Candace Nichole Brown of Sikeston; one grandson, Devin Groves of Jackson; two step grandsons, Brock Michael Brown and Gavin Parker Brown; one step granddaughter, Bailey Jane Brown of Sikeston; one brother, John "Johnny" (Carla) Groves of Benton; one sister, Linda (Blaine) Adams of Sikeston; and a number of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rick Ramsey, pastor of the New Savannah Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his first cousins: Shawn McClain, Chalk McClain, Jerry McClain, David Ryan Groves, Patrick Pitchner and Eddie Woodruff.
