Obituary

JACOB LARRY 'JAKE' McCLOSKEY, Age 57, died at 2:45 a.m., Monday, December 07, 2009 at his home in rural Charleston.

Born February 5, 1952 at Cairo, IL to the late Charles Ira and Juanita Wehunt McCloskey, he had lived in Mississippi County his entire life and was a 1971 graduate of Charleston High School. A self-employed farmer, he had attended the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church in East Prairie.

On December 24, 1988, he married Billie Ann Marshall who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: one brother, Joe McCloskey of rural Charleston; two brothers in law, Brent Porterfield of Brownsville, TN and Mark Marshall of Keller, TX; one sister in law, Connie Marshall Dickerson of East Prairie; nieces and nephews, Mary Porterfield O'Connor of New York, NY; Stacia McCloskey of Independence, MO; Tina McCloskey Trabucco of Charlotte, NC; Jill McCloskey Powell of Columbia, MO; Emily Porterfield Rich of Dallas, TX; Amy McCloskey of Orlando, FL; Matt Dickerson of Summerfield, KS; Nick Marshall and Leah Marshall both of Keller, TX., also his father in law and mother in law, Billy and Colatha Marshall of East Prairie

One sister, Rebecca Jane "Becky" Porterfield, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Dan Usher, pastor of the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church in East Prairie, will officiate. Eulogies will be offered by brother in law, Brent Porterfield and by family friend Eddie Barnhill.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Feezor, Charlie Glenn, Dale Glenn, Gary Sager, Stephen McClanahan and Rick Smoot.
