Obituary

JAMES PAUL BRUENDERMAN, age 65, a resident of rural Charleston, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020, in Alexander County, Il.

Born April 6, 1955, in Cairo, IL, to Robert Paul Bruenderman and Margaret Marie Wallace Bruenderman, Jimmy was hard worker who was employed by Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for many years, and then by the Charleston R-1 School District. He enjoyed working on the family farm and loved making the rounds to antique stores, wood working and visiting with people.

Jimmy had a long-term relationship with Jeannie Jones, the deceased mother of his son James Bruenderman, who survives. He then married Mary Riley of Sikeston, who also preceded him in death.

In addition to his son, James Bruenderman, he is survived by his four grandchildren, Sierra, Caitlin, Brittany and Rylan Bruenderman; his brothers, Bennie Bruenderman and Tommy Bruenderman both of Charleston and Charles Bruenderman of Sikeston; his sisters, Laura Knoderer and Diane (Joe) Sevic of Charleston and Paula McClung of Sikeston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ann; his brother Robert, and by his brother in law, Victor McClung.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2020, at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.   Father David Dohogne will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Gabe McClung, Drew Sevic, Robert Renaud, Joey Duenne, Tommy Showmaker, Fred Rolwing and Kenny Kuykendall.
