James (Jim) Ralph Butler of Trenton, Michigan, formerly of Charleston, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013.

Jim was born August 03, 1946 to the Late J.B. and Mea Carr Butler of Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pat; his son Matt Butler and his wife, Jennifer of Gibraltar, Michigan; daughter, Laura Wright and her husband, Joe, of Wabash, Indiana; three grandchildren, Jarrett, Calleigh and Adrienne Butler of Gibraltar, Michigan; two sisters, Christy Butler White of San Antonio, Texas, Cathy Butler Brown of Nixa, Missouri; five brothers, Dennis Butler of San Antonio, Texas; Scott Butler of Spring Hill, Tennessee; Kevin Butler of Columbia, South Carolina; Kelly Butler of Charleston, Missouri and Shannon Butler of Benton, Missouri.

Jim was a 1964 graduate of St. Henry's High School in Charleston, Missouri, a 1970 graduate of the University of Missouri, Rolla with a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Management and a Masters in Computer Science from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 1985. He worked in the steel manufacturing industry for 35 years before his retirement. Jim was an avid reader, motorcycle enthusiast, loved to travel and most of all loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

A Celebration Mass will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014, 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Woods in Woodhaven, Michigan immediately followed by a family and friends reception luncheon.
