JAMES EDWARD CARLISLE, SR., Age 76, a resident of Sikeston, died Thursday, May 23, 2019, near Morley, MO.
Born August 13, 1942, at Charleston, MO, to the late Joseph Martin Carlisle and Lilly Pearl Hargan Carlisle, he had lived in Sikeston since 1975 and was the owner and operator of Carlisle Solid Waste and then a Framing wholesale/retail business prior to retiring. He was a member of the Southeast Missouri Bass Fishing Club and the Knights of Columbus. A graduate of St. Henry Catholic High School in Charleston, he was of the Catholic faith. His greatest joy was hunting and fishing. He passed just after having a great day fishing.
On February 8, 1964, he married Marsha Ann Butler, who preceded him in death June 13, 2002.
Surviving are his children, Julie Fraser Young of Sikeston, Lisa Garrison of Jefferson City, MO and James Edward Carlisle, Jr., of Steele, MO; his grandchildren, Mark Fraser of Denver, CO, Morgan Fraser of Memphis, TN, Amelia Garrison of Jefferson City, MO, Brevin Carlisle, Parker Carlisle and Callie Carlisle all of Steele, MO; Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph Carlisle of Benton, MO and Mark Carlisle of Emory, TX.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Carlisle.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Graveside services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m., at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
