James Edward Cloud, age 86, a resident of East Prairie, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Miner Nursing Center.

He was born December, 14, 1932, at Tiptonville, TN, to the late James Claude Cloud and Hazel Odell Reynolds Cloud. He was of Church of Christ belief and had attended Diehlstadt High School. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany from 1951-1953 and was a member of the Infantry Regiment.  He was employed at MODOT as a mechanic and maintenance worker and had been a private airplane pilot for over 40 years as well as a corporate pilot.

On May 19, 1956, in Hernando, MS, he married Amma Jean Glass, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are his son, Ed (Terri) Cloud of Murphy, NC; his daughter, Debi (Larry) Witt of Harrisburg, AR; three grandchildren; also, one brother, Johnny Cloud of Benton and one sister, Patsy Miller of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roger Cloud; two brothers, Jackie Cloud and Jerry Cloud and two sisters, Peggy Walls and Lois White.

Services with full military honors will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Bloomfield.
