JAMES MACK HARRIS, SR., age 83, died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home in Charleston, MO, surrounded by his family.
Born February 1, 1941, in the Bridges Community of rural Mississippi County, MO, he had lived in Mississippi County his entire life and retired as a Harbor Boat Pilot after 35 years of service.
On December 28, 1963, he married Linda Diane Miller, who survives of the home.
Also surviving is his son, James M. Harris, Jr., of Charleston; two grandchildren, Brandon Michael Harris and Jamie Lee Moss; his brothers, Willis R. (Kay) Harris, William R. "Bill" (Frances) Harris and Glen D. (Judy) Harris; his sisters, Virginia L. Bowles and Mary Evelyn (Voundis) Stephens all of Wyatt; also, several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Special survivors include is fur babies, Lacy Lynn, Bo and Daisy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Lynn Harris and one sister, Nola L. Verhelle.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. His nephew, Sam Bowles, will officiate.
Interment will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
Pallbearers will be Bill Harris, Jr., Bud Bowles, Frankie Allen, Robert Harris, Billy Suggs, Kevin Nally and Cody Suggs.
