JAMES HARRISON IVIE, age 63, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Matthews, died Monday, August 9, 2021, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born October 21, 1957, at East Prairie, MO, to the late Joseph Harold Ivie and Barbara Lou Gamblin Ivie.  He had lived in East Prairie and the Matthews most of his life before moving to Denver, CO.  He then returned to Cape Girardeau where he has lived the past few years.   He had been employed as a mechanic and then as a cook.

Surviving is his life partner, Joann Basinger Drake of Cape Girardeau; his son Michael Robert Jarvis of Denver, CO and his daughter, Courtney Nichole Ivie of New Madrid; one granddaughter, Vanessa Jarvis; his brothers, Ronnie, Joe, Ben and Zach Ivie and his sisters, Sherrie Bost and Dianne Polley;  and his longtime friend, David Carnell.  He was married to Cindi Ivie who also survives.

Private services will be held.
