James Earl "Jim" Chappell, 81, died at his home in Sikeston Oct. 20, 2015. He was born Jan.7, 1934 in Parma to the late Coy and Della Mae (Wilkins) Chappell. He had been a truck driver and was a member of Smith Avenue Church of God. He was married to Mary Ann (McEntire) June 28, 1982 in Sikeston and she survives of the home. Also surviving are 1 son, Rocky Chappell of Sikeston; 1 step-son, Charles W. Eldridge of Sikeston; 2 daughters, Janet Davidson of Sikeston and Jane Chappell of Cape Girardeau; and 1 step-daughter, Kimberly D. Wylde of Sikeston. Nine grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 11:00 am Thursday until time for services at 1:00 pm. Rev. Ira Sandefer, pastor of Smith Avenue Church of God will officiate and burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bryce Davidson, Dale Wylde, Patrick Wylde, Blade Bannister, Jordan Chappell and Logan Chappell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewey Davidson and Jason Childers.
