Obituary

JAMES LONNIE "JIM" .DeWITT  JR., age 59, a resident of Sikeston, formerly of Williston TN, died Monday, July 13, 2020, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Jim was born December 6, 1960 in Wyatt to James Lonnie and Shirley Long DeWitt who survive of Sikeston. He was a graduate of Bartlett High School in Bartlett, TN and had lived most of his life in the Oakland, TN area where he owned DeWitt Trailers and was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church in Oakland. He moved to Sikeston in October 2019.

Surviving are three sons, Chase DeWitt, Aaron DeWitt, and Nicolas DeWitt all of Oakland, TN; one sister, Missy Montgomery of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren; Colton, River, Owen, Layne, Emily, Charlotte, and Sara.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Gracie DeWitt; one sister, Tammy Parker; and his grandparents, John and Ethel Long and Link and Geneva Dewitt.

Funeral Services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 16, 2020, in the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. Rev. Richard Long, Jim's uncle, of Johnson City, Tennessee officiated. Missy Montgomery, Jim's sister, offered a Eulogy.

Interment followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Chase DeWitt, Aaron DeWitt, Nicholas DeWitt, Charlie Montgomery, Peyton Montgomery, and Jimmy Parker.
