Jim Forbey

James Douglas "Jim" Forbey, age 81, of Bloomfield, MO, died Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Born October 6, 1944, at Cape Girardeau, MO, to the late Archie Forbey and Pearl Mae Ervin Forbey, Jim grew up in Charleston and was raised in the Church of the Nazarene, which he would attend throughout his life.   A graduate of Charleston High School, Jim excelled in sports, especially track and football.  Following his high school graduation, he attended college and enlisted in the Missouri National Guard during the Vietnam era.  Jim was a Christian man with integrity and believed in hard work.  In the late 1970's he and his wife moved their family to Bloomfield where they would build their life and home.  Jim would work for the Bunny Bread Company as a representative for a number of years until his retirement.

On October 21, 1966, he married the love of his life, Donna Faye Evans, the daughter of the late William Norton "Dude" Evans and Lois Lovella Frix Evans.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Jamie Lynn Davis, Kimberly Dawn (Dale) Jackson, Lori L. (Shannon) England and Charity (Bryan) Edmonds; his grandchildren, Courtney, Evan, Gabe, Lizzie, J.R., Miranda; his great grandchildren, Tyson, Jaelynn, Carter, Finley and Laney; his sister, Gwen Phenicie, and nephews, Jonathan (Kristen) Hall and Jordan (Krista) Phenicie; also, several great nieces and nephews and a number of cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jay Phenicie and his niece and her husband, Ashley (Mike) Adams.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Monday, December 22, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Greg Stevens of Dexter will officiate.

Graveside services with full military honors will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
