Obituary

Janet Eileen Hudspeth, 67, died at her home in Sikeston, Saturday, July 12, 2014. She was born April 2, 1947 in Springfield, IL to the late Homer W. and Eileen (Griswold) Tice. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and had worked at various Nursing Homes; they had moved back to Sikeston 4 months ago from Lake of the Ozarks; she had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Petersburg, IL, a member of Lake Christian Church at Lake of the Ozarks and attended St. Luke's Orthodox Anglican Church since moving back to Sikeston; she loved cooking and entertaining, and her main passion was serving as Chairperson for the local Relay for Life campaign for several years. She was married to Thomas D. Hudspeth June 11, 1966 in Petersburg and he survives of the home; also surviving are 1 son Christopher Thomas "Chris" Hudspeth of Metropolis, IL; 1 daughter and son-in-law Becky & Mike Wincek of Omaha, Nebraska an two grandchildren Michael Wincek and Kate Wincek both also of Omaha. Other survivors are 1 brother Jerry (Janene) Tice of Petersburg; 2 sisters, Mary (Ray) Daniels of Edwardsville and Becky (Mike) Helgen of Litchfield. Numerous nieces an nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Ann Patton. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Aug. 9 at Greenview United Church in Greenview, IL with Stephanie McCullough, the pastor officiating.
