Obituary
JAY DEE SAMS, age 53, a resident of Paducah, KY died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born April 26, 1964 in Ft. Gordon, GA to Donald Lee and Norma O'Reilly Sams who survive of Charleston. A 1982 graduate of Charleston High School, he received training as a computer technician from Western KY Community and Technical College in Paducah, KY. He also worked as a carpenter and tree trimmer, and assisted in New Orleans for several years following Hurricane Katrina. Most recently he worked with a uniform laundry service in Paducah. His favorite pastime was playing dominoes on Facebook.
In 1987 he married Teresa Woodworth who survives.
In addition to his parents, Donald and Norma Sams, he is survived by one son, Jason Sams of Charleston; one brother Jeff Sams of Denver, CO; three grandchildren of Charleston; one niece, one nephew, and one great nephew all of Cheyenne, WY.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston until the Funeral hour at 11:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Nathan Pullen, Ricky Sisk, Steve Griggs, Jeff Sams, Zachary Sams and Darren Cann.
