J.B. McClendon, age 90, of Anniston, MO, died Friday, January 14, 2022, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was born May 19, 1931, at Anniston, to the late Jesse Mack McClendon and Karen Gardner McClendon and had lived near Anniston most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and completed his tenure of military service a total of 16 years in the Missouri Army National Guard. He was first employed with McTigue Construction and later worked a number of years with the Bunge Company until his retirement.
On April 18, 1954, he married Joyce E. Hamill, who survives of the home.
Also surviving is his son, Kenny (Kay) McClendon of Clarksville, GA; his grandchildren, Shannon Bowles, Jeremy Michael Bohannon, Jessica Renick, Josh McClendon and Kaytilyn Courson; 12 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild on the way; two nephews, Stacey McClendon and Ryan McClendon; and to best friends, Jerry Dyer and Jamie Gilmore.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Lynn McClendon Bohannon and his brother, Bill McClendon.
Private family services will be held at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Martin Lucas will officate.
Interment will be private at the Anniston Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
