J.C. "BUDDY" CAIN, Age 88, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at his home in Bertrand.
Born October 15, 1924, at Burdette, Arkansas, to the late Clarence and Nannie Bell Roberts Cain, he had lived in Bertrand most of his life where he was a member of the Church of God. A retired farmer, he owned and operated Cain's Novelty Stores at Wyatt, Branson and Kimberling City for a number of years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
On August 21, 1948, he married Lorene Taylor, who survives of the home in Bertrand.
Also surviving are: two sons and daughters in law, David and Ginny Cain of Branson and Tony and Melba Cain of Bertrand; two daughters and sons in law, Wanda and Leetis Byrd of Bertrand and Margie and John Brewer of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Della Laster of Bertrand and Imogene Fairhurst of Antioch, CA; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Cain and Everett Cain and by one sister, Rena Sills.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013. Bob Williams of Mountain View, MO and Roger Pendergrass of Bertrand, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Full military honors will be provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program.
Pallbearers will be: David Cain, Tony Cain, John Brewer, Chris Brewer, Trenton Cain and Dewayne Taylor.
