Obituary

Jean Marilyn Lowry passed away April 4, 2021, in Bradenton, Florida. She was born April 14, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan. Jean is survived by her three children, Michael (Suzanne), Stephen (Zoe Ann), and Susan (Richard), her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Francis Mae Johnson Wallace, her father, Charles Marvin "Jack" Cummins, and step-father, Carl Banks Wallace.

Jean was a strong, determined, and very independent person. She retired from McGraw Hill Book Company before moving to Florida, where she was employed by Instrument Transformers Inc., for several years. She was recognized in her years of employment as highly valued, hard-working, and skilled.

She had a passion for design and organization. Her home was always beautifully decorated and she loved flowers and gardening.

Jean will be fondly remembered for her kindness and love of family. She cherished her time spent at holiday gatherings, birthdays, and get-togethers. Her family made her the most happy in life.

A memorial to honor her life will be held on September 11, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri.  Rev. J. Robert Webster, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, will officiate.
