Jean Marshall

Gwendoline Jean Marshall, 92 of East Prairie, MO, died December 8, 2020, at her home.

Jean was born February 2, 1928, in Horsham, England, to Richard William Porter and Gladys Rosie Knight.

On September 1, 1951, she married Charles Robert Marshall, who preceded her in death on January 9, 2017.

After arriving in Missouri in 1955 they resided in the Yellow Dog Community where they started their family. She spent many years as a homemaker, then started her career at First Bank of East Prairie in 1963 where she retired.

She was on the board of the East Prairie Nutrition Center, an active member of First Church of God, and served as an election judge.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Jack Jewel of Redwood City, CA, Steve Marshall of Nashville, TN, and Debbie Glenn of Cape Girardeau, MO; eight grandchildren Shonna Slaughter, Andrea Story, Sarah Glenn, Bradley Glenn, Leslie Marshall, Shelby Marshall, Jonathan Marshall and Kyle Marshall; eleven great grandchildren Kenzie Slaughter, Ty Wallace, Marshall Story, Cary-McClure Story, Sophie-Grace Carbaugh, Stella Carbaugh, Owen Marshall, Boston Marshall, Jackson Glenn, Colton Glenn, and Olivia Glenn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Marshall, son Bobby Marshall, daughter-in-law Necie Cooper Marshall, and son-in-law Steve Glenn.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2020, at First Church of God in East Prairie, MO, with funeral service immediately following. Dawn Walters will officiate.

Face Masks and social distancing will be required.

A private graveside service will take place on Monday, December 14, 2020, 10am at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, in Bloomfield, MO.
