Thomas Jefferson Bogue, III

May 28, 1947 – September 5, 2023

Thomas Jefferson Bogue III died peacefully September 5, 2023. A man of strong Catholic faith, Jeff was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend.

Born May 28, 1947, he spent his childhood in several small towns in the Mississippi Delta, calling Hollandale, MS, his hometown. He graduated from Hollandale High School in 1965 and from Delta State University, Cleveland, MS, in 1970, with a degree in biology. He earned his master's degree in pharmacology from University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS.

Jeff married Patricia Ancell Bogue December 28, 1973. The began their life together in Memphis, TN., moved to  Atlanta, GA, for his profession, and then moved back to Memphis, where they raised their beloved son Thomas Jefferson Bogue IV.

In Memphis, Jeff's career progressed from the pharmaceutical industry to various positions at University of Tennessee. At the time of his retirement, he was Director of Students and Alumni Affairs for the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy at the Center for the Health Sciences.

Jeff retired to Sikeston, MO, in 2013, where he served as a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the church where he and Patty were married fifty years ago.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until time for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston. Father Colby Elbert, pastor, will serve as celebrant.

Private interment will be at a later date in Hollandale, MS.
