JERE LEE SIDES, Age 61, a resident of Charleston, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
Born April 29, 1951, at Memphis, TN, to the late Neal A. and Betty L. Fisher Sides, he was a 1970 Graduate of Memphis Tech High School and had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era obtaining the rank of E-5. Having lived in Charleston a number years, he was employed with the Mississippi County Ambulance Service for 15 years as an EMT and was a member of the Abundant Life of Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston.
On May 8, 1998, he married Camilla Hill, who survives of the home.
Surviving are: one son, Damon E. Sides of Buffalo, NY; one daughter, Desiree Sides of Buffalo, NY; three stepsons, Eric French of Desoto, MO; Michael J. (Julie) French of West Plains, MO; and Justin French of Cape Girardeau, MO; one brother, Steve Sides of Memphis, TN; one granddaughter, Amanda Sides of Buffalo, NY; five step-grandchildren, Mya French of Desoto, Michael Massey of Desoto, Kodiak French, Angelina French and Tanner French all of West Plains, MO.
One brother, Patrick "Pat" Sides and one granddaughter, Trinity Chappell, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Rodney Dunlap, pastor of the Abundant Life in Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston will officiate. Phil Patterson, director of the Mississippi County Ambulance Service will offer a eulogy.
Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, MO under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Phil Patterson, Tim Brown, Lee Boze, Danny Harris, Josh Seitz and Lindsay Beasley.
