Jerry Alvin "J.J." Waters, Jr., 17, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born July 4, 2004, at Sikeston, MO, to Jerry Alvin Waters of Cape Girardeau and Jennifer Lynn Maddux Fisher of Morley. J.J. loved to ride four wheelers and workout. He was a big-time gamer and had friends from all over the place. J.J. learned to speak Korean and really enjoyed "K-Pop" music, he was actually planning a trip with his sister, Abby, to visit South Korea. He was such a sweet, very smart, lovable young man.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Abigail "Abby" (Chris Essary) Maddux of Morley, MO; Justin Fisher, Christan Waters and Mason Gammons of Cape Girardeau, MO; his fur baby Buddy; three uncles, David "Davey" Waters, Little Ricky (Sarah Gilbert) Maddux and James Hurt; paternal grandparents, Steve and Martha Haney, his maternal grandparents, Ricky Maddux and Lisa Radica; and three fur-nephews, Chewy, Bradley and Blue.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Alejos; his grandfather, David Gene Waters; great grandmother, Bertha Manriquez and his maternal great grandparents, Everet and Edith West.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, MO under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: James Hurt, Chris Essary, Mason Gammons, Big Ricky Maddux, Justin Fisher, Christan Waters, Jerry Waters and Little Ricky Maddux. Honorary pallbearers will be Poppa Steve Haney.
