Obituary

JERRY WAYNE ROSSON, SR., Age 63, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at his home in Charleston.

Born September 21, 1948, at Lawrenceburg, TN, to the late Stevie and Veliah (Billie) Simpson Rosson, he was 1968 graduate of Charleston High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served in the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he enlisted in the Missouri National Guard and served until 1980. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church.

On August 28, 1984, he married Catherine Ann Bradley Seay, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: five sons, Jerry Wayne Rosson, Jr., Brian Seay and Lonnie Seay, Doug (Nichell) Haddock and Joe Bob (Pam) Rosson all of Charleston; three daughters, Leighann (Terry) Taylor of Matthews, MO; Trina (Charles) Thacker and Shelly Seay both of Malden, MO; two sisters, Betty Housman of Charleston and Connie (Glenn) Stephens of Madison, AL; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; also a number of nephews, nieces and host of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Rosson and one sister, Joan Brown.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Bill Bradley of Charleston will officiate.

Committal service will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Missouri Veteran Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military rites provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program.
