Jerry Alvin Waters, Sr., age 39, of Charleston, died Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Cape Girardeau.

Born March 17, 1984, in Sikeston, MO, to Martha Ann Groves Haney, who survives of Charleston and the late David Gene Waters, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Christian David Waters; his son, Justin Fisher; his stepfather, Steve Haney; his brother, David Waters, David Maddux and James Hurt; stepsisters, Evelyn, Ruby and Brandy; his father-in-law, Ricky, Maddux, mother-in-law, Lisa Radica; his uncle, Bruce Groves; his aunt, Janet;  also, several cousins and friends to the end, Jennifer Maddux, John Waters, Gabriel Lynch and Jackson Lynch.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his son, Jerry Alvin "J.J." Waters, Jr.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
