James Maurice "Jim" Jepsen, age 79, of Charleston, died Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born December 7, 1943, in LaHabra, California, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He moved to Charleston a number of years ago with his wife Peggy to help her take care of her family. Jim and Peggy were best known and loved as Mr. and Mrs. Clause. They enjoyed visiting around Charleston and the surrounding areas in private homes, parades and community functions, in full Santa and Mrs. Clause attire.
Jim married the love of his life, Peggy Ann Lynn, on April 29, 1978, and she preceded him in death on March 18, 2017.
Also preceding in death was their only son, Shannon Anthony Mascia, who was killed March 22, 1997, at the age of 23.
Surviving is extended family and many friends who he loved dearly.
There will be a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors. His cremated remains will be interred together with those of his wife, Peggy and those of his beloved fur baby, Mandy.
McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
