James Ray "Jim" Taylor, 70, of Morehouse, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born October 11, 1946 in Sikeston to the late Ernest and Winnie (Stewart) Taylor. A resident of this area all of his life, he had been a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, had served with Co. C 1140th Eng. Batalion with the MO National Guard in Sikeston, and had worked in shipping at Lewis Bakeries and later at Brown Shoe. On December 6, 1985 he was married to Joy Bonds in Sikeston and she survives of the home. Also surviving are 1 son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Stephanie Taylor of Springfield; 1 grandson, Kyle Taylor of Jackson; 2 brothers, Dale (JoAnn) Taylor of Sikeston and Dennis Taylor of Cape Girardeau; his mother-in-law, Melba Bonds of Morehouse and a brother-in-law, Wade (Rhonda) Bonds of Sikeston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Bobby Taylor. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 until 8 pm Sunday. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am Monday, March 20, with Rev. Billy Davis of Kewanee and Rev. Dwayne Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
