Jimmie Lee Greer, affectionately known as "Ice Man", was taken from our midst at his son's home on November 17th, 2024 at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was born May 20th, 1957 in rural Mississippi County to the late William T. Greer and the late Gerline Greer Mims and had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.

Jimmie graduated from Charleston Senior High School in the year of 1976. After graduating High School, he stepped head first into the working world were he worked for the Levee District of Wyatt Missouri and the Country Club of Charleston, Missouri for years. He had a love for landscaping. You could always ride past the Country Club and see him out on his mower or doing some type of landscaping to the Golf Course. His love for landscaping never ended. After retiring from the Country Club, Jimmie could still be seen riding around in the community on his lawnmower.

He had a way with words. One of his favorite sayings was, "The Bird Says No". He also had a love for cooking and playing horseshoes with his friends.

Later in life Jimmie met and married Teresa Jones and to this union four boys were born.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and two nieces.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife, Teresa Greer of Wilson City, Missouri, four sons, Jimmie (Mecca) Greer Jr. of Wilson City, Missouri, Dramel Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, DeMarco Simpson and Corian Greer both of Charleston, Missouri. Two brothers, Freddie Greer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Michael Greer of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Seven sisters, Shirley Lindell, Corene Greer, Deloris Bogan and Cassie Dunnigan all of Charleston, Missouri, Etta Greer of Sikeston, Missouri, Patricia Greer of Chicago, Illinois, and Lovey Greer of Kalamazoo, Michigan. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Three special friends, Melvin Williams, Lawrence Foster and LuWayne Rowe.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmie Greer Jr., Dramel Jones, Demarco Simpson, Corian Greer, Kris Dunnigan, Kevin Dunnigan, Ronald Jones.
