Jimmie Lynn Irvan, 61, a resident of Sikeston, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born June 19, 1953 in Marshall County, Kentucky to the late Jim Ray and Linda Sue (Freeman) Irvan. A resident of Sikeston the past two years, he previously had lived in Marshall & McCracken Counties in Kentucky, was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era, and was of the Baptist Faith. He had been a truck driver for years, most recently for Martin Transportation Systems of Bertrand. He was married to Bettie S. Washburn on April 26, 1986 in Livingston County, Kentucky and she survives of the home. Also surviving are four daughters: Nancy Davenport of Murray, Ky., Clarrisa Porterfield of Lewisburg, Lisa Johnson of Russellville, and Stacy Irvan of Lewisburg; 1 brother, Douglas Irvan of Calvert City; 2 sisters, JoAnn Hill of Kevil and Patricia Peery of South Fulton, Tn. Eleven grandchildren an two great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Donna Gee May 29, 2014. Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 12 noon until time for services at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 8. Rev. John Tarter, pastor of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church will officiate and burial will follow at Armer Cemetery near Bertrand.
