Obituary

Jimmie Paul Warf, 63, passed away Monday, Feb.9, 2015 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born January 18, 1952 in Kennett to the late James A. and Evelyn B. (Briggs) Warf he was a resident of this area most of his life where he was a 1970 graduate of Sikeston Public Schools. He excelled in baseball and was the first freshman to play for the varsity golf team who claimed first place in 1967, 1968, and 1970 district competition and second place in 1969. A state qualifier from 1967-1969, Warf received second place honors his senior year as the runner-up medalist and won the Missouri State High School Junior Tournaments in the summer of 1967 and 1968. He received a full golf scholarship to Mississippi Sate University and was the winning medalist in the 1971 SEC Championship in Callaway Garden, Ga. He was an amateur golfer and a nine-time Sikeston Country Club Champion from 1979-1994. He had been employed as a route salesman for the Paramount Company of St. Louis. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the First Christian Church. In 2005, he was inducted into the Sikeston Public Schools Hall of Fame. On March 22, 1974, at the First Christian Church in Sikeston, he married Anna B. Bruno, and she survives of the home. Also surviving are one son, Jimmie Paul "J.P." Warf, Jr. of the home; one sister and brother-in-law, Pat & Jimmy Lambert of Sikeston; one grandson, Dayton Xander Warf of Navarre, Florida; three nephews, J.W. White and Erik White both of Sikeston and Michael & Verona Lambert of Jackson and two great-nephews, Austin Lambert of Jackson and Kaeden White of Sikeston. One sister, Pamela W. Lambert, preceded him in death March 22, 2010. Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 6:00 pm Friday until time for memorial services at 7:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Mary McCord officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Jim P. Warf Memorial Fund c/o First State Community Bank 201 N. Main St. Sikeston, MO 63801.
