Obituary

Jimmy L. Stidham, age 85, of Sikeston, formerly of Bertrand, died Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

He was born September 12, 1936 in Hackleburg, AL to the late Courtry and Annie Mae Purser Stidham. Jimmy served as a minister for the Church of God for over 35 years. He also worked at the Charleston Country Club as the groundskeeper and farmed out at Wolf Island for Raymond Morrow. Jimmy loved to be in the garden with the flowers, roses were his favorite. He loved to study his Bible and play guitar and sing; bluegrass and gospel were his musical choices. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, woodworking and watching Nascar, especially Bill Elliott and Mark Martin.

On September 5, 1953, he married Olean Holland in Mississippi, she preceded him in death on April 6, 1977.

On October 8, 1977, he married Carolyn Anderson Stidham in Arkansas.

Surviving are his children, Patricia (Lawrence) Brashear of Sikeston, MO; Danny Lee Stidham of Sikeston, MO; Melanie (Philip) Folts of Des Arc, AR; Ray Allen (Debbie) Stidham of Prairie Grove, AR; Julie (Billy) Warren of Manila, AR; Karen (Greg) Stallings of Manila, AR; Sandra (Mike) Zielinski of Manila, AR and Randy (Lindsi) of Rogers, AR; two brothers, Lucion Stidham of Rockford, IL and L.C. Stidham of Arlington, WA; four sisters, Jennette Wiginton of Hackleburg, AL; Dorothy Frye of Okeechobee, FL; Willodean Brashear of Sikeston, MO and Anna Lee (Lance) Bridwell of Benton, MO; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, John Mark Stidham; one grandson, Jason Stidham; 5 brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral  Home in Charleston. Bro. Greg Whitlock will officiate.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Bethlehem Cemetery near Hamilton, Alabama.
