Joan Frederick

Phyllis Joan Reeves Frederick, age 82, died Thursday, January 24, 2024, at her home in Sikeston.

Born July 22, 1941, at East Prairie, MO, to the late John Elec and Myrtle Bea Williams Reeves, she was a graduate of East Prairie Schools. She had lived in Sikeston a number of years and retired from ADM Boat Line after 20 years of service.  She was a member of New Day Ministries in Sikeston.  Joan loved her family. She loved gardening, cooking, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

On March 26, 1989, in Sikeston, MO, she married Norris Lee Frederick, who preceded her in death on August 6, 2017.

Surviving are her children, Theresa Gail (John) Dell of Sikeston; Ginger Dean (Roland) McBeath of Sikeston; Lyle Ray (Stephanie) Jones of Millersville; Kyle Wayne (Kim) Jones of Bloomfield; her stepchildren, Randy (Nita) Frederick; Carla (Meko) Robin and Chantel (Terry) LaBlanc all of Breaux Bridge, LA; a number of grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth Wade Jones and Garold Lee Jones; also, her brothers and sisters, Juanita Reeves, Virginia Blagg, Estelle Robey, Joyce Watson, Gene Reeves, Wayne Reeves, Estes Reeves and India Mathis.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Mountain View Cemetery at Des Arc, Missouri.
