JOAN GAYLE HILL, Age 69, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at her home in Oran, MO.
Born November 11, 1942, at Miller City, Illinois, to Edith Louise Davison Ice who survives of Cairo, IL and the late Thomas Franklin Ice, she had lived in Oran for over 40 years and was a member of the Miner Baptist Church. She had been employed as a home health worker until ill health forced her retirement.
On November 25, 1965, she married Charles David Hill, who survives of the home in Oran.
Surviving besides her husband and mother are: one daughter, Anne Renee Hill Hubbard of Lansing, MI; one brother, Tommy "Sonny" Ice of Mounds, IL; four sisters, Sharon Dunn, Barbara Pulliam and Pamela Ice, all of Cairo, IL and Brenda Bone of Charleston, MO. Also, five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Mitch Jackson, pastor of the Miner Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Billy Holmes, Phil Lacy, Justin Ice, Shawn Ice, Brandon Bone and Ray Dorris.
