Joanna Farley, age 86, of Sikeston died Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born October 20, 1935, and Clarendon, AR, to the late William Closkie Skaggs and Lorene Walker Skaggs Woods, she had lived in the Sikeston area most of her life. An ordained minister of the Gospel, she and her late husband were active in various churches where they would both minister and he would use his musical talents as well. For a number of years, the Farley's traveled the country as missionaries, especially to the Navajo Indians and in the Appalachian Mountains. Most recently she was active in the congregation at Potters House Church in Sikeston.
On October 20, 1956, at Corinth, MS, she married Oliver Wendell Farley, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2012.
Surviving is her daughter, Susie (Bill) Presswood of Tyler, TX; her grandchildren, Bryan (Whitney) Montgomery of Sikeston, Wendy Montgomery of Kennett and Abby (Joey) Seiler of Sikeston; also, four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Montgomery; her brother, Buster Skaggs and her sister, Margaret Ruth Skaggs Oldham.
Family and friends may assemble for graveside services at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. John Givens will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
