John Walley Groesbeck, age 89, of Sikeston, passed away at Missouri Delta Medical Center on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

He was born January 9, 1935, at Loyalton, CA, to the late John William Groesbeck and Ruth Etta Morgan Jones and was the stepson of Harry Leroy Jones.   He was raised in Salem, IL before moving to Sikeston.

On February 9, 1953, he married Helen Larue Heath, who preceded him in death on May 19, 2007.

He is survived by his two children, Sandra Kay Russell and John Morgan (Lisa) Groesbeck; one grandson, Christopher Michael Russell; three great grandsons, Christopher Gaige (Maura) Russell, Cain Michael Russell and Cobe Dean Russell; one great granddaughter, Cameron Faith Russell; two great great grandchildren, Nora Larue Russell and Abel Gaige Michael Russell.

In addition to his wife, parents and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his half -brother, Randy Leroy Jones.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Graveside services will immediately follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Russell, Gaige Russell and Cain Russell.  Honorary pallbearer will be his son, John Morgan Groesbeck.
