Obituary

JOHN HENRY THURMAN, Age 51, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his home in Charleston.

Born February 6, 1961, at Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Elmer William "Mike" and Pauline Christina Hart Thurman, he had lived in Charleston his entire life and had worked as a carpenter. He had served in the Missouri National Guard, was a former member of the V.F.W. and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

He is survived by his companion, Patricia Henry Riley, of the home.

Also surviving are: two sons, John Michael Thurman of Cape Girardeau and Joshua Eric Thurman of Wyatt; one step son, Mark Moore of Sikeston; three step daughters, Rhonda Stewart of Bertrand, Cynthia Ashworth and Kimberly Woodworth of Wyatt; four sisters, Rose McClendon, Paula Meeks, Martha Humphrey and Gail Faire all of Charleston; one granddaughter, Ambretta Anais McPhereson; nine step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis Thurman, William Thurman and Joseph Thurman and by four sisters, Mildred Thurman, Delores Hawkins, Mary Lou Vinson and Maxine Geers.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Winston Williford, Cary Stewart and Rhonda Stewart will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Ben Snider, Duck Ashworth, Jamie Tripp, Robert Meeks, David Faire and Chris Vinson.
