John Russell Nolen, formerly of Charleston, MO, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014,  in Amite City, LA,  at the age of 64.

He is survived by one son, Christopher (Tina) Nolen of Kenner, LA; Brothers: Frank Nolen of West Monroe, LA, Thomas Nolen of Charleston, MO and Robert Nolen (Jackie) of Wyatt, MO; Sisters: Mary Marascalco (John) of Metairie, LA, Susan Bunton (Ron) of Jefferson, LA, Fay Groves (Morris) of McKenzie, TN, Leah Ann Poindexter (Michael) of Otisco, IN and Cora Thurman of Wyatt, MO. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Sophie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his Father and Mother, William and Anna Nolen; Brothers: Howard, Edward, Jessie W., James, Jessie R. and Sister: Lola Bright.

He was a former resident of Monroe and Kenner, LA and upon retirement moved to his country home in Kentwood, LA. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and cooking whatever he caught. His second home was the bayou. He will be missed by family and friends.

A memorial will be held in Kentwood, LA on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
