Obituary

John Douglas Sharber, 58, of Sikeston, died Friday July 11, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 25, 1955 in Memphis, TN to Georgia (Gallaway) Sharber Cook and the late William Sharber. A resident here for the past 20 years, he had previously lived in Memphis. He was a self-employed drywall installer and a member of Church on the Rock. On Feb. 8, 1995 he was married to Bernice True at Bell City and she survives of the home. Also surviving are one son, Andrew Douglas Sharber of the home; 3 daughters, Morgan Brittney Sharber, Caitlyn DeAnn Sharber and Katie Allison Sharber all of the home; and one guardian son, Zeeshan Huang who was raised in the home; his mother and stepfather, Georgia & James Cook of Byhalia, Mississippi; 4 brothers, Steve Sharber, Billy Sharber, and Clifford Sharber all of Memphis and James Sharber, address unknown; and one sister, Ann Harwick of Memphis. Friends may call Wednesday from 10 am until time for services at 11 am at Church on the Rock where his brother-in-law, the pastor, Curtis True will officiate. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be Greg Copeland, Mark Smith, Dustin Kelley, Marty McReynolds, Eddie Little, Harry Pratt, and Larry Lindsey. Online condolences may be shared with the family at blanchardfuneral.com.
