Johnnie Dale Brown

Johnnie Dale Brown, age 67, died Monday, April 6, 2026, at the home of his sister, Vanessa Brown, in rural East Prairie, MO.

Born February 14, 1959, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Riley Brown and Mamie Ruth Ketchum Brown, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life.

Survivors include his son, John Brown, Jr., of Morehouse; his daughter, Jessica Caniff of Matthews; his brothers, Rev. Gary (Becky) Brown of West Frankfort, IL and Riley (Kelly) Brown of Virginia Beach, VA; his sister and caregiver, Vanessa Brown of rural East Prairie; his sisters, Sharon Mims of Charleston, SC and Kim (Larry) Buttry of Wyatt; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jack Thomas (JT); his daughter, Tanya; his brother, James (Bo) Brown; his sisters, Angie Barnett and Lisa Brown and his niece, Elizabeth.

Per Johnnie’s wishes, there will be no services.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
