Obituary

Johnny Van McMinn, age 71, a resident of Charleston, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO.

Johnny was born August 18, 1951, at Sikeston, MO, to the late John E. "J.E." McMinn and Cora Lee Schneider McMinn.  Following his high school graduation, Johnny went on to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia and graduated with a degree in accounting.  He then went to work as a Controller for the St. Louis Cardinals and remained employed there until his return to Charleston, where he served as Mississippi County Drug Court Administrator.   He had served as a former member of the Mississippi County Historical Society.

Surviving is his twin sister, Georgia Gremillion and his sister, Janet (Bruce) DeField both of Charleston; nephews and nieces, Andrew (Ann) DeField, Allison (Ian) Rich, Justin (Sarah) Gremillion, Ben Gremillion, Jarrett (Becky) Bond and Beth (Julie) Bond; his fur baby, Buddy; and also his special family friends, The Mark Smith family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Eric Bond and Todd Duffey McMinn.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Private graveside services will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Garrett Smith will officiate.

Interment will follow under the direction of the McMIkle Funeral Home of Charleston.
