Obituary
JON DERRICK LAYTON, age 57, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at his residence in Charleston.
He was born August 31, 1953 in Cairo, IL to Patricia "Pat" Howlett Layton who survives of Charleston and the late Joseph Willis Layton Sr. Following graduation from Charleston High School in 1971, he moved to Fort Worth, TX where he was employed as a computer technician. He returned to Charleston and attended Moberly Junior College until he was disabled by health conditions. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Joseph Willis Layton Jr. of Charleston; two sons, Christopher Carl Layton of Memphis, TN and Jon Harrison Layton of Benton, MO.; two daughters, Jennifer Dawn Layton and Kimberly Ann Layton McCoy both of Dexter, MO.; 5 granddaughters and one grandson.
Family and Friends will assemble at the IOOF Cemetery for Graveside Services at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Rev. Michael Brewer, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Services conducted under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
