Obituary

Jonnie Lee Fennell, was born April 18, 1948, in the Pinhook Community of Mississippi County, MO to the late Huriah Fennell, Sr. and Rosie Lee Whitney Fennell.  He was a very hard working man and a hard loving father. That passed on a lot of skills and talent to his fabulous 5 children. Also his faith was strong as a Christian, calling on God and Jesus for all his tough life situations.

Our daddy took his last breath on March 24, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO at the age of 75.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son in law, Perry Strong; his oldest brother, Joe Fennell; his sister, Ruth Harris; his grandparents on both sides of his family, paternal grandparents Andrew Fennell, Sr. and Susie Fennell; maternal grandparents, Walter Whitney, Sr. and Susie Mix Whitney; brother in law, Clint Hunter, Jr., sister in law, Denise Gillespie Fennell; Uncles Ben Thomas and Henry Whitney; along with other uncles, aunts and cousins.

Our daddy, Jonnie Lee Fennell, was the second oldest of 8 children.   He was big on family love and he took pride on leaving knowledge and wisdom to any stranger that became a friend.

Our daddy leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Gwen Lee Fennell and Tracy Latrice Strong both of Charleston; three sons, Jonnie Junior Ross of Sikeston; Andrew Junior Ross of Tucker, AR and Jessie James Ross of Kansas City, MO; the mother of his children, Louvennia Farris of Charleston; his sister, Willie Mae Hunter of St. Joseph, MI; his brothers, Glenn Edward (Wonda) Fennell, Sr., Willie Bee Fennell, Henry Lee Fennell and Huriah (Irness) Fennell, Jr.; 14 grandchildren; 16, great grandchildren. 2 aunts, Aunt Erma Whitney of Charleston; Aunt Willean Whitney of Fort Myers, FL; his sister in law, Shirley Fennell of Fort Myers, FL; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
