JOSEPH 'JOE' GARRETT, Age 65, formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at his home in Bertrand.

Born January 3, 1953, at Bertrand, to the late Oscar and Rosa Alline Turnbow Garrett, he had lived in Sikeston most of his life where he was employed a number of years as the sexton of Garden of Memories Cemetery and Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston and the Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley. He was of Pentecostal Belief.

On July 14, 1988, at Benton, MO, he married Minnie Beatrice Isbell, who survives of the home.

Surviving besides his wife is: four sons, Willard Benjamin Wilson, Joseph Anthony Garrett, James Edward Spurlin and Joseph Scott Garrett; two daughters, Betty Wilson and Martha Jean Wilson; brothers, George Garrett, Jesse Garrett, Raymond Garrett and Sam Garrett; sisters, Emma Fleming, Shirley Foster and Margie Fleming; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lillian Isbell; two grandsons, Keifer Wilson and Levi Garrett; brothers, Johney Garrett, Tom Garrett, Truman Garrett and David Garrett and his sisters, Irene Garrett, Dorothy McKenzie, Oma Hollingshead, Nancy Davis and Linda Pew.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Joseph Scott Garrett, James Wilson, Willard Wilson, Joseph Anthony Garrett, Ethan Wilson and Joseph Garrett, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Tom Nunnelee, Scott Riley, Mark McMillion and Terry A. Parker.
