Obituary

Joseph McLaurin, age 46, of rural Charleston, MO, was born on September 17, 1978, in West Memphis, Arkansas and entered this world as a blessing. On August 25, 2025, he departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith.

Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring with honor after years of dedicated service. His commitment to hard work and personal growth led him to later earn his Associate of Science and Business Administration and Bachelor of Science and Business Administration, a testament to his perseverance and determination. Beyond his accomplishments, Joseph's true measure of success was found in the love he gave and the lives he touched.

To know Joseph was to know a man with a generous spirit, a warm smile, and a heart always open to others. He was gentle yet strong, humble yet wise, and his presence had the power to bring comfort and joy. His laughter could light up a room, and his compassion made everyone feel valued.

Joseph was a devoted father, and his greatest treasures in life were his children: Jaylen Stewart, Joseph McLaurin Jr., Yancey McLaurin, and Matthew McLaurin. He loved them unconditionally and was proud of each of them. As a son, he honored his parents with deep respect. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McLaurin, and his memory will forever be cherished by his mother, Josephine McLaurin, whose love for him never wavered.

Family was the foundation of Joseph's life. He shared an unbreakable bond with his twin brother, Joshua McLaurin, and found strength, laughter, and companionship among his many brothers and sisters: Alberta McLaurin, Callie McLaurin, Roy Lee McLaurin, Thomas McLaurin, Stephanie McLaurin, Timothy McLaurin, Jesse Jeffries, James Jeffries, Jimmie Jeffries, Dr. Jacqueline Green, Jermaine Jeffries, Daniel McLaurin, Justine McLaurin, Benjamin McLaurin, Keith McLaurin, and Aaron McLaurin. Each sibling holds a special memory of Joseph that will endure forever.

Though his time on earth ended too soon, Joseph's life was full of meaning. He will be remembered not for material possessions, but for his unwavering faith, his dedication to family, and the love he poured into everyone he encountered. His story is one of a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
