Joyce Christine Manker, age 79, of Benton, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Aspire Nursing Center in East Prairie, MO.
Born January 8, 1945, at Phoenix, AZ, to the late James Harold Tatum and Della Boyer Tatum, she had lived in Anniston and later Benton most of her life. She was a retired cook having worked at the Ramada Inn at Sikeston.
On March 9, 1963, she married Lawrence Norman Manker, who preceded her in death October 12, 1995.
Surviving is her daughter, Candy Manker Portillo; her son, Lawrence "Jay" Manker; her grandchildren, Presley Christine (Matt) Derrington, Shelly Dawn LaBoube and Tressa Marie Woosley; her stepson, Norman Dale Manker; her stepdaughter, Donna Medlock; her sister, Donna (Andy) Youngblood; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Norville and Harold Tatum and her sisters, Barbara Rice and Ruth Kerr.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Anniston Cemetery. Rev. Steve Vester will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
