J.T. "BUD" JONES, age 84, a resident of Bertrand, died peacefully at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau surrounded by family and friends.

He was born June 2, 1926 in Rector, AR to the late W.B. and Mary Oliphant Jones. He lived in Mississippi County most of his life and was employed in farming until retiring from Cullison Farms in 1999. He was a member of the General Baptist Church in Diehlstadt, and loved his church family.

In 1948 he married Margie George who preceded him in death on June 27, 2008.

Surviving are two sons, Johnny Jones and Tracy (Kelly) Jones both of East Prairie; two daughters, Elissa Ann Dallke of Sikeston and Ruth Marie (John)Noonan of Bertrand; three brothers, William "Jack" Jones and Woody Parsons both of East Prairie, and Jimmy Summers of St. Augustine, FL; two sisters, Laverne Parker of East Prairie, Christine Frey of Arnold; also 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

One son, Freddy Glen Jones, one brother, Leroy Jones; and four sisters, Flora Milde, Leona Sipp, Anna Jones, and Ella Parsons, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be conducted from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the General Baptist Church in Diehlstadt with Rev. Dwayne Kirkpatrick, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John Paul Jones, Larry Coffer, Jim Cullison, Michael Jones, Shon Presson, and Roger Burns.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kris Alexander, David Belk, Jerry Hart, and Antonio Juarez.
