Obituary

JULIA ANN "JUDY" GENTRY HEQUEMBOURG, age 84, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her residence in Charleston.

Born April 15, 1938 in Charleston to Roland "Kayo" and Frances Julia Ohmes   She was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston where she attended St Henry Catholic School and graduated with the Class of 1956.  Following her graduation she attended Christian College, known today as Columbia College in Columbia, MO then moved to Memphis, TN where she worked until her return to Charleston in 1962.

On November 24, 1962 she married Terry Finley Hequembourg who preceded her in death on December 12, 2014.

She was a homemaker who raised her three children while supporting her husband in his farming operation.  She was a Charter member of the Molly French Garden Club and was an avid bridge player.

Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Brad (Susan) Hequembourg of Charleston; two daughters and sons in law, Cheryl Brent (Parker Sykes) of  The Villages,  FL and Mary (Mark) Johnson of Wilmington, NC; her mother, Frances Gentry of Bertrand; and  three grandchildren, Finley Hequembourg of Charleston, Riley Johnson and Ella Johnson of Wilmington, NC; one brother, David (Rebecca) Gentry of Jackson, MO; and two sisters in law, Karen Clevidence of Charleston and Kay Luttrell of Knoxville, TN.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Roland "Kayo" Gentry; and two brothers-in-law, Dr. Arvell Luttrell and Bob Clevidence.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the Funeral Hour at 11:00 am., Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. Father David Dohogne, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Burke, Clark Dugan, Marvin Gillespie, Kevin Powell, Richard Rolwing, and Bobby Schott.

Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Henry Catholic Church Renovation Fund, 304 Court Street, Charleston, Missouri 63834 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
