Obituary

June Workman DeLay, 90, of Sikeston, Missouri, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 15, 2019. A former resident of Bell City and Charleston, she had lived in Sikeston for the past 19 years.

Born June 22, 1929, in Bell City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lynn Jones Workman; she married Hubert DeLay, Sr., in April of 1946, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2009.

They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive: Sherri (Gary) Noisworthy of Sikeston, Keith (Vonna) DeLay and Hubert, Jr. (Mollie) DeLay of Charleston. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Trevor (Kelly) Noisworthy of Poplar Bluff, Tiffany (Don) Seth of Moscow Mills, Brian DeLay of Hattiesburg MS, Tyler (JJ) Black of Bonita Springs FL, Rebecca (Ben) Arbeiter of Old Monroe, Tyson DeLay and Whitney (Brad) Alexander of Sikeston and Annie-Mollie (Nick) DeLay-Revelle of Charleston; also surviving are thirteen great-grandchildren and one brother, Eddie Workman, of Scott City, as well as many very special cousins, nephews and nieces.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

The DeLay family moved to Charleston from Bell City in 1958 when the family owned business, DeLay Brothers Implement Company, expanded to a second location; the family moved to Sikeston in 1998. A homemaker her entire adult life, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. An excellent cook, she was well known for her large family meals that many times included friends of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston.

Visitation will be at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, from the hours of 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m., with the Reverands Gerald Penn and Stan Hargis officiating.

Interment will follow at Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery in Advance under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Trevor Noisworthy, Brian DeLay, Tyson DeLay, J.J. Black, Ben Arbeiter, and Brad Alexander
