RILEY "JUNIOR" BROWN, Age 82, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his home in Charleston.
Born June 8, 1927 at Ashburn, MO to the late James Riley and Rosa Buchanan Brown, he had lived in Mississippi County most of his life were he was employed in farming until his retirement in 2000 and had served in the Missouri National Guard.
On June 26, 1952, he married Mamie Ruth Ketchum, who preceded him in death December 4, 2007.
Surviving are: three sons and two daughters in law, Rev. Gary and Becky Brown of Herrin, IL; John Brown of Charleston and Riley "Pete" and Linda Brown of Irvington, KY; four daughters and three sons in law, Sharon and Stanley Mims of Conroe, TX, Angie and Dwayne "Barney" Barnett of Sikeston, Vanessa Brown of the home and Kim and Larry Buttry of Wyatt; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Brown; one son, James Lee "Bo" Brown; two brothers, Jack Brown and Richard Brown; one sister, Wyonetta Vinson Gaither, one grandson, J.T. Brown.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010. His son, Rev. Gary Brown and his grandson, Rev. Judge Brown, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: David Casey, Lance Tubbs, Stanley Powers, Matt McMillen, Tim Brown, Jonathan Hall, B.J. Barnett, Chris Newell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dennis Allen, Jessie "J.J." Crawford, Judge Brown, Jason Alan Tubbs, John Brown, Jr., Amanda Hall, Amber Eaton, Elizabeth Barnett, Krystal Brown and Kiley Brown
