J.W. MILLER
JASPER WILLIAM 'J.W.' MILLER, Age 86, a resident of Diehlstadt, died at 8:15 a.m., Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born December 29, 1924 at Advance, MO, to the late Jasper Utah and Alma Edith McClain Miller, he had lived in Diehlstadt most of his life where he was engaged in farming. He was a member of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
On December 2, 1949, he married Evelyn Johnson, who preceded him in death November 20, 2010.
Surviving are: one son, Laney Miller of Diehlstadt; two brothers, Carl Ray Miller of Benton and Loy Gene Miller of Diehlstadt; one sister, Carolyn Bellah of Sikeston; two granddaughters and one grandson in law, Carrie Miller Haynes and her husband David Haynes of Dexter and Rachel Miller of Cape Girardeau; five great grandchildren, Hannah, Shelby and Madelyn Haynes and Connor and Caden Miller.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Delia Mae Bryant and Margaret Brothers.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Bro. Raymond "Buddy" Hannah of East Prairie and Bro. Dewayne Kirkpatrick, pastor of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church, will officiate
Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
